Born in a city with a Mango flavor, the city of pure waters and the Sultana of the West, Mayagüez. At 40 years old. My name is Jareth André, I am the oldest of three brothers. At 15 years old, I came out of the closet, identifying myself at that time as a woman who liked women. My path was hard, but I came out ahead. I dedicated myself to studying careers related to health, including nursing and then as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic, a profession in which I developed and worked unstoppably for many years. After a while I got hurt which prevented me from continuing to work. For a long time I was immersed in a depression which made me hit rock bottom and paralyzed my life in all aspects. In 2016 I started going to a clinic where I was able to express for the first time that I did not feel comfortable with my gender assigned at birth, and although it took me a while, in this place they helped me find my way and gave me the few tools that were there to begin my transition. During these last years I have had the opportunity to collaborate with people like me, to learn and take advantage of every opportunity to grow to be able to serve a group. Today, being in 2023, I am faced with a dream with purpose, a dream that is focused on being able to serve and help trans boys/men not have so many difficulties once they are ready to begin their transition processes.
